I have not done a post crossing card in a long time.  I think I may get back into it and see where it takes me.

Stack of Letters from the Past

by Sandy on May 2, 2012

Stack of Letters

This is a stack of letters that I wrote and have not received replies just yet.  I  am not sure if these pals have moved on and gotten bored with writing or maybe it was me who put them to sleep. hmm I hope it wasn’t me who put them to sleep.  Nice thing is that in reading my letters to them I can remember small episodes in my life I had forgotten.  Always a good twist to a bad thing.

1 lovely letter a bunch of junk mail

So Much To Do So Little Time

by Sandy on May 1, 2012

Well, my list today includes the following:

The maintenance type stuff yada yada, not all is on there the list would be never ending.

clutter 3

  • Laundry
  • Dishes
  • Teaching (this one is a must can’t even think of skipping this one)

Then there is the stuff that  I have given myself the next few weeks to do such as:

  • De-cluttering my bathroom
  • De-cluttering my Room

These are the big ones for now more to come I am sure later.  Don’t want to make the list to long as it might overwhelm me.

What are some of your plans for de-cluttering?

Pen Friend Musings – The lost friend

by Sandy on May 1, 2012

Long Lost Pen Pal

Long Lost Pen Pal (Photo credit: andreasnilsson1976)

As I was looking through my box of past letters I notice something. A few good pals have not replied back to my last letter, some as far back as 6 months.

Their lives may have gotten busy or life happened and they have not gotten back to responding. I tend to hold on to these letters for quite a while and I am not sure why. I think I hope that once life settles down they will again pick up pen and paper and write about what has being going on in their life. I don’t mind waiting for a reply if I have a feeling if in the slightest that it is coming. Maybe a quick email or post card saying

Hey a letter will be on it’s way as soon as I get things in order or something.

but no all I hear is silence.  Well I will never know or have an answer to this question but..  Why do good pen friends go missing?

What Drives Me Batty About A Pen Friend

by Sandy on April 30, 2012

Went to the mailbox the other day to see if I had any mail waiting. I was so glad to see two letters and pull them out and immediately my smile turned to a smirk.  Warning a dose of sarcasm coming at you, you have been warned.

What could I have seen in this mailbox that gave me a look of oh poop not again well it’s

Tiny Letter

a tiny letter.  It was so small when I opened the envelope I had a hard time finding the darn letter.  It gripes me to no end that someone month after month can take the time and effort to write down 5 lines on a sheet of tiny note paper.  On top of that they have to pay postage to send such letter on it’s way.  Come on people put a little effort in it and write a regular letter.  It really isn’t that difficult and I know you can do it.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND - JANUARY 25: Dr Nancy Gr...

See like this nice example I found on the net, it doesn’t even have to be on fancy paper, or typed.  As long as I can read it and it’s a letter with content all else can be over looked.

Fortunately, I get only like two or so of these a month so that I am thankful for.  Ok I will get off my soap box now, back to regular posting.

My desk as it looks at the end of this week, it doesn’t always look this organized.  When I am in the middle of writing it is a huge mess.  This is a toned down version of my desk.

Well that is all for this week of Mail Call, see you again next week.  If you have a blog and post your photos please share a link as I would love to take a peek.

My Letters Pile

by Sandy on April 26, 2012

Lately , my pen has been slow and I have been mousing around watching the news in the morning instead of writing my letters. Thus my to reply stack was growing steadily.  So I have turned off the television and started writing more without that distraction.  My day starts off so much better when I take the time to collect my thoughts and put them down on paper.

Here are a few photos of what I have been up to lately.

I am also going to start using my bill payer organizer to file my letters to reply in, because I am not using it for bills anyways.

Sometimes One Just Has To Let Go

by Sandy on April 8, 2012

Easter eggs // Ostereier

Easter eggs // Ostereier (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Today after did our Easter Egg Hunt and baked with the kids I got to relaxing a bit. I took out my box where I store my pen friend letters and started looking through it.  I was amazed at how many letters have not been replied to me in over a years time.  I honestly don’t know why I saved them for this long.  I guess I thought well maybe, just maybe the person would write back the optimist in me. (ha ha)

Well I took the time today to sort through them and dispose in the round file all those letters that were taking up precious room in my letter box.  Now as I see it I have ample room for the pen friends I have that write regularly and want to continue a pen friend relationship.

Now I have to make sure I prune my letter box with more frequency as a way to go with the minimalist state of mind our family is in for this season of our life.
