Pumpkin Harvest

Dear Kristy,

Yesterday was a cloudy day here and it makes me kinda of blue days like that. How was your weather in your area?

Surprisingly enough I was able to finish all my housework for the day, boy was that a marathon for me. My 9 yr old and my 5 year old did great and finished their school work on time. Of course I did bride them with time to paint our pumpkins after all their work was done.

We decided to paint our pumpkins this year vs carving them because our apt is toward the back and no one would see it. By painting them we will be able to cut them and make something out of them and roast the seeds.

In the early afternoon my husband and I had agreed we were going to go over to his parents house really quick to help them move some furniture. We arrived at their home around 6 p.m. and chit chatted a lil and the also showed us the new floor that had just been laid down in their home. It was a dark red tile in the living and dinning area. A bit too dark for my taste but it was nice enough. They also had place some wood floor in the rooms which was dark too but it looked better than the carpet that was there before. I did make a comment like this “Oh it the floors are you two” Meaning that it was their style nothing else, well my MIL said to me “I will take that as a good thing” I was a bit surprised by her comment but left it at that.

On the way out of their room I notice that a nice blanket I had given her last Christmas was not the dogs blanket in their doggie bed. I left their home feeling hurt that a gift I had carefully chosen for her was now the dogs blanket. Well their isn’t anything I can do about it but now I know how she feels about that blanket. LOL Ah I have one just like it and sleep with it every night it’s my favorite blanket and it’s pink.

We got home in plenty of time for dinner and put the kids to bed on time. My hubs and I then sat down for a nice relaxing time watching some of our favorite show we had recorded on the dvr.

  • Laundry
  • Dishes
  • Teaching (this one is a must can’t even think of skipping this one)

Then there is the stuff that  I have given myself the next few weeks to do such as:

  • De-cluttering my bathroom
  • De-cluttering my Room

These are the big ones for now more to come I am sure later.  Don’t want to make the list to long as it might overwhelm me.

What are some of your plans for de-cluttering?

Well Hello September

09/04/2011 by Sandra Leave a Comment

I can’t believe September is here and that we are on it’s 4th day now. I shake my head in disbelief.  So many new and exciting things going on for me, that I want to make sure I remember then clearly.  So I am going to create a few new pages for a variety of reminders to myself and maybe inspire someone too.

I didn’t get any mail out yesterday, but I did prepare a couple to send out on Tuesday.  I plan on preparing one or two more tomorrow Sept 5, Labor Day.

My writing desk today

For dinner tonight I made Ropa Vieja a dish my grandmother prepared often and it translates into Old Clothes lol.  Growing up adults always told me it was horse meat.  You won’t believe how long I believed that to be true, until I figured out it was flank steak.  I cooked it in the crock pot which was a first, but the results were very good and tasty.
