Rice Pudding (Arroz con Leche)

This was one of my favorite sweets to eat at my grandmas house. I have not made it in a long time. Now it brings back memories again.

What you will need:  1/2 cup rice, 1 1/2 cup water, 1 piece lemon peel, 1 stick cinnamon, 1 liter milk, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp vanilla, cinnamon powder

What to Do:

Boil rice and cook with water, lemon and cinnamon stick until soft.  Add the milk, salt and sugar and cook over medium heat for 1 hour or until thickened.  Stir occasionally to avoid sticking.  Pour into serving dish and sprinkle with cinnamon.
