Our Corpus Christi Trip

05/25/2008 by Sandra Leave a Comment

I am taking a road trip to Corpus Christi, TX to visit my husband grand parents whom he had not seen in a couple of years. In our small car was our family which consists of two adults and two young children. Our first challenge was packing all that we needed in our car. My husband being a good packer got it all in.

We had originally intended to leave at 7 am, but being the procrastinators that we are we didn’t leave till about 9 am.

Our first night we stayed in Temple TX.  The second day we drove to San Antonio TX, where we stayed two nights.  We went to Sea World for one day and enjoyed the day very much.  My lil guy had a blast and the baby did very well.

From there we drove to Corpus Christi and stayed for two nights at a family members home.  This was good because it saved us on hotel room.  While in CC we visited my husbands grand parents on his fathers side who are 90 and live in a really nice retirement home.  I had never met them, so it was nice to be able to talk to them and spend some time there visiting.

Our second night there we went to have pizza with my mother in laws family.  I had not met any of them in person either.  It was quite an experience too I might add.  None of them came to my wedding they were all too busy for that event.

The next day we started our drive back home.  We stopped at a hotel in Salado TX and were planning on staying one night and keep going home but that is not what happened at all.  We were all so tired of driving, especially the kids we all decided to stay on additional night.  Ah only a small snag in that only one room was available crud.  Well we stayed in the same room for just one night thank goodness.

The next morning we drove home, a long drive mind you but we arrived.

I am amazed at myself because

We are going on a family vacation soon. I am amazed at how I have everything planned for packing. I have a list of items I am wanting to take printed and ready for me to check off.

I was remembering a few days ago how our last vacation was so disorganized and I didn’t want this one to be the same.

Detect, Deter and Defend

I was reading my work forums and found this site posted on that forum. I was very interested in reading it because I have been a victim of identity theft. It was a while ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday. It was very time consuming and stressful to fix all the wrong that had been done.

Here is the link to the site I found

Trouble at the pharmacy

05/23/2008 by Sandra 2 Comments

I am very out with the current laws on purchasing Claritin-D.

The reason I say this is because of my experience at Wal-mart Pharmacy yesterday. I assume this could have happened to me at any pharmacy I went to. I suffer allergies, and generally I take the occasional allergy tablet, if the need arises. I have food allergies and pet, and smoke allergies. I can’t eat certain foods and I don’t like to smell pets particularly cats. I have terrible allergy attacks to them, they are cute lil fuzzy things that don’t like my nose. I am traveling and one never knows if pets have been in hotel rooms, even when they say no pets allowed.

Now back to my story, a little background is sufficient. My husband went to buy two 10 tablet boxes of Claritin D and he was told he could only buy one ten tablet box. He had wanted one for him and one for me for our vacation. Thanks goodness I was there because I had to buy my own box. Wow what a mission it was too, never in my life did I imagine. I had to give the cashier my drivers license, my phone number and had to sign a statement declaring that I my information was not false and that I didn’t intend fraud etc etc. I read it all when I signed it just to make sure what I was signing. Then to top it off I thought I was paying for the one box of Claritin- D but no. I had to swipe my card again and sign to pay it. This took quite a while it wasn’t just walk in buy your medicine and leave.

I am curious now and want to know why this is done. I thought if medicine that they needed to track was suppose to be purchased by prescription. I am going to do a search online today to read up on why this happens.

Hence my first statement I am no up to date with current laws. I don’t purchase these often enough, thank goodness. I purchase it every once in a blue moon.

Well that is my post, had to vent because it did aggravate me quite a bit. If I had not needed the tablets I probably would have just left, but anyhow. 🙂 Click below for information I found in my search.
