Splash Pad Fun and Spending

Well our budget is sure squeaking this month, we are not over but sure are standing very close to the edge. Yet in reviewing this month it was almost all needs, well I will admit a few wants sneaked in too.
In remembering how our spending plan has been used and abused this month, we went to the splash pad today for some free fun. Not many things now a days are free but this truly had no expense for us today. We had a nice hardy breakfast and packed some snack and off we went. All the children really wanted was cold water and their little bodies ran like the wind through the water. I didn’t have it too bad either I sat in the shade where I could deligently watch them and relax a bit.
We will definitely do this again soon, my 3 yr old was so worn out he is taking an awesome nap now and mom can take one too. 🙂

Needless Waste Of Gasoline

I was driving to the Y and ran into some aweful traffic on the highway and I knew I wasn’t going to be on time. I called to see how long my child care reservation would be held since I was going to be about 15 minutes late.
Turn out I didn’t have a reservation and they or I failed to write it down. It doesn’t really matter who made the mistake. What matters is that I need to call ahead and double check this so that I don’t drive more than halfway there, to only have to turn around and come back home. Fortunately I didn’t stress over it too much I just went to do an errand or two so the gas wasn’t a complete waste.
Learned a lesson today that can say me some money on the gasoline I put in the vehicle.
