Scorching Heat

06/23/2010 by Sandra 2 Comments

It is so hot outside that the A/C has been running non stop all day.  I am cringing at the thought of our electric bill this month.

I remember last year around this time I thought the unit had broken because the temperature in the house wouldn’t go down much.  Turns out it wasn’t broken it was working hard to try to keep up with the temperature outside.  Which was sort of a good thing because at least we didn’t have a repair bill to account to.

Glasses, Eye Exams and Yes Finally Contact Lenses

06/21/2010 by Sandra Leave a Comment

We finally all went in for eye exams, except for our 3 yr old.

I finally got new glasses as the one’s I was wearing were all smudged from the anti glare film yuck.  I got new lenses in my old frames which are still in good shape.  Soon will go in to get my trial contacts due to my high prescription they never have mine in stock sigh.

My husband got two new pairs of glasses one regular and on for the sun.  Poor thing last time we went in for glasses we got let’s say abused by the office.  My glasses and exam alone were well over $500.00, which at the time was our budget for the family.  When we got my bill we had to skip his exam and I my chin was dragging for days I felt so bad.

Our 7 yrs old we found out also needs glasses and he got two really nice pairs.  He really like them thank goodness.  He seems to be taking great care of them and not being rough on the frames.

The best part is that our budget of $500.00 for these exams went all the way this time.  We all got our exams for about 525.00.  I was so glad my husband and my son were also able to get their exams.  Shame on our previous doctor for the shameless abuse of us, we would have gone back had they not overcharged us so much.  We are on the other side of the token very happy with our new office. (sigh of relief)

Movie and Family Time Fun

06/21/2010 by Sandra Leave a Comment

expenses weren’t too bad.

We spent

11.00 on going to see Toy Story 3

20.00 on Chinese Buffet

——————-

Total 31.00 for our father’s day weekend outing

The movie was great, even my 3 yr old watched it, semi calmly in his seat.

The food was really a pleasant surprise, we have eaten at this place once I think before.

Now back to our regular programming of mom’s cooking and pbs kids. (big smile on face)

Mortgage Going Down

06/16/2010 by Sandra Leave a Comment

I am just a little bit excited because our mortgage is going down a bit.  This is the first time this has happened since we move into this home several years ago.

Through all our getting out of debt many times we have wanted and tried to sell our home.  For one reason or another our attempts to sell our home have not worked out.  It was a bit of a smack in the face when we have not succeded but now after the fact it might be a good thing.

I keep having a love hate relationship with this house, but mostly I love it because of it’s location. Hmmm if only the mortgage payments would continue to go down that would make it a total love relationship. 🙂
