Update on our Spending Looking at our Budget

12/01/2011 by Sandra 1 Comment

Christmas in the post-War United States

I am focusing on reducing our food budget for the time being.  In the month of December our budget for our family of 4 was approximately 750.00.  This include a new family member foster child who is currently living with us.

My goal for the month of December will be 700.00 including my Christmas baking gifts.  I will do my best to get to that goal let’s see how I do later this month.

Do you have a food budget?  What is your budget for your family?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments and maybe even your blog url so we can give one another tips.  Thanks and Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays 🙂

Getting Back Into Crochet Practice Makes Perfect

07/22/2011 by Sandra Leave a Comment

Well I am trying to relearn this great craft. When I was younger I used to make baby dresses and bathing suit also blanket, stuffed animals and more. Now I can barely get this dish cloth straight but I am persistent and have taken it apart once already. Now it looks better, what do you think is it getting there.

He is also my 1/2 pint glass jar for my try at Upcycled Pin Cushion Swap.  I have not signed up for it yet, just testing out how it might come out for me in the end.  I thought I should try it out before making a fool of myself.

Thank You Notes and Other Necesarry Task

12/28/2010 by Sandra Leave a Comment

Now we can get on to writing our thank you notes instead of playing video games all day.  It was fun but my mommy brain was a bit wigged out from it all.  He got off quite a few days from his job, I was so glad he was able to swing it.

Now we also have a bunch of sweets in the house and not enough mouths to eat it all.  I certainly don’t want to considering my gift I got for Christmas (The 17 day diet book)  I would like to try it out today.  I sat in bed for a few last night and read it and it sounds pretty shall I say interesting for lack of other words.  Still to be seen if I will follow through, I know what else is new huh.
