Loving Altered Matchboxes

03/26/2011 by Sandra 6 Comments

A new thing for me is these cute little altered matchboxes, I just love how cute they look.  This one was sent to me in a swap from amigirl on swapbot.

Received from Amigirl Matchbox

Isn’t this the cutest little thing, and look at the tiny beads.  Had to have some steady hands for that 🙂

Filled with little trinkets and stuff, not sure yet what I will use these little things for.  Something tell me I will learn that along the way.

Recd from Amigirl extra box for me to try

Some extra paper and a little box for me to give it a try.  I am wanting to do that but waiting for some quiet time.  I will post mine when I put it together.  Don’t get all excited mine won’t look as nice as the one I received.

Here is the little box again, so cute.  I just love it.

Have you tried making something like this before?  If so do you have pics to share?  If not would it be something you might want to try.  If you do a search on flickr you will see that there are many many different version open to what your imagination can create.

Received this bookmarks for Inspirational Bookmark swap, from my partner basketlady218.

swap received for Inspirational Bookmark

And a very short note in the envelope too.  She says she just had eye surgery and the bookmarks may not be too straight but it’s the thought that counts sometimes and this is one of those time.

Participating in these swaps has definitely made me think about some of the crafts that I used to do that I might want to restart such as crochet.  I dug through my storage today for my grandma’s needle and found them.  I am just beyond myself this afternoon to have found these treasures.

Bunny Mask from KrisKringle

My kids just loved these bunny masks, they wore them all day long.  Funny they didn’t have so much fun with the one I made lol.

Even my lil guy wouldn’t take it off.  The only bad thing is the glue kept coming undone, but I did check out Oriental Trading and this is a known defect with them.  Just pulled out the handy dandy glue and re-glue.    They played with them non stop after the little repair.

All the items in one pic

Here is the complete package

2 pkgs of gummy bunnies (they ate so quick I didn’t even get to try them.)

1 bunny balloon which they share so well

1 awesome book my older son read to my lil guy

5 nice recipes for me to try yay!

Some nice stickers and a few other lil odds and end

The big package of cookies were delicious we all tried those and loved them.

What do you think of this package from Australia from KrisKringle from swap bot?

Pretty Note Card Received

Swap receive from PostMuse for a private swap

Here is a very nice card received from postmuse on swap-bot.com.  She wrote a nice note on the card on the right, I loved it and her handwriting is so neat.  She uses special pens that are awesome.  The card on left is a blank one she included in her envelope for me to use and send to someone else.  I am sure it will find a recipient soon.
