I mixed up some dishwasher mix today. I have not mixed it up before today so I will have to experiment with the right amount to get my dishes clean
Dishwasher Powder
2 cups of washing soda
2 cups borax
I saved my old container for the store bought dishwasher mix and it works great for storage.

Another version
1 cup borax
1 cup baking soda
this one works better for me than the first one, but try either one see what works better for you.

Thanks for the blog comment on my laundry detergent. I think I like it. Still getting used to not having much of a smell. I do still have commercial as a back up incase I decide I don’t like it. As of right now I don’t see that happening though. Since the only added thing to my laundry detergent is a partial bar of soap, compared to your dishwaser detergent, I’m guessing it will work as a dish detergent as well. I am alomst out of dishsoap…like a drop or two left maybe, and have thought of giving it a try. That will be a blog post soon I’m sure 🙂
