Looking for ways to bring in a bit more income

07/28/2008 by Sandra 1 Comment

My DH and I are searching for ways to bring in a few hundred dollars a month to pay our debt down quicker.  The way we are progressing now it should take us approx. 4 yrs to be debt free.  If we can find a way to increase our income it would be cut back to 2 yrs, which is our goal.

DH has put in applications at a local retail store,  to see if he can work several hours after work and possibly on weekends.  We are still waiting on a call from that strore, keeping our fingers crossed.  I am looking to watch one, possibly two children in our home.   I have two who may possibly start soon, but still up in the air for now.

In the meantime I am working on cutting down our expense as much as I can, as non of the extra income ideas we have had will be starting anytime soon.

Another Sleepless Night

07/16/2008 by Sandra Leave a Comment

Last night my one year old woke up at 3 a.m.. I didn’t see any apparent reason for his waking up at this time.

Just to be sure his new teeth weren’t the problem, I gave him some Tylenol. He had been fine all day, no discomfort that I could see, and he had gone to sleep with no problem at approx 9:00 p.m.

He was fighting all our attempt to sooth him that would result in his falling back to sleep. Finally after about 1 1/2 hrs. of trying to put him to sleep he fell back into slumber land. Of course at that point mom wasn’t very sleepy anymore 🙂 I stay up about another 45 minutes watching some late night show and then resumed my own sleep.
