Doing What I Love

I love writing letters, it is so relaxing to just sit with my thoughts and put them down on paper. I have several pen friends that I have found on facebook. I do hope they stick with me but truth be told I might lose some over time, and have to find replacements. In the mean time I am enjoying very much the one’s I have now.

Looking at the picture I really need to spruce up my envelopes and make them somehow prettier at least some of the times. Have you done any writing lately? Please share in the comments any of your pen friend adventures.

Write On

Got up early this morning before the kids got up and did some writing. I sat at my desk and wrote two letters and drank a cup of coffee.

It was so relaxing and soothing to do this, I think I will make it a weekday ritual.

I have ventured beyond swap-bot and joined a group on Facebook called Pen pals For Life and now have a couple of pen friends. I still enjoy swapping on Swap Bot just have another avenue now to find pen pal friends.

Cake Baking oh Cake Baking Fun

I enjoy baking but I don’t enjoy having the cake hang around the house calling my name. I bought this cookie mold recently and finally got to try it out for my kids birthdays.

Here is my try at using these cute molds.

This was my first try, the mold came out really easy and in one piece

This is how it looked before the candle was added. The cake was German Chocolate

This is my second try and I got the white cream cheese icing and added blue food coloring

How pretty is that shade and oh so tasty

This is the finished cake now I am not planning on quitting my day job any time soon and go into cake decorating.

Cupcake Goodies

I went to my friend Liz’s house the other day for a cup of coffee and as I glanced around her kitchen and dinning area I notice all the cute watermelon themed items she had in her home. Now I have been there many times and noticed some of them but I had never taken the opportunity to look well.

She was on the phone and I stood there wondering around and observing. Got me thinking I have never really gravitated toward any particular theme in my home. My theme is anything I found cute and useful at the moment but I wanted something that my family and friends could say hey that reminds me of Sandy. So I saw on my pinterest a poster who had found some cupcake items at the Dollar General and I love love cupcakes.

So I went to my local Dollar General and this stuff is so stinkin cute and inexpensive it was almost all gone. I was determined and found two other Dollar Generals in my area and stopped by till I found all the items I was interested in and here they my start to my themed kitchen.

These are actually trinket holders they the lid has a hinge that opens up

spoon and coffee mug

Recipe holders with cards, if you do a recipe swap with me you might just get it written on one of these cute cards

I just noticed I forgot to take a picture of the cupcake clock. poo will have to get that pic snapped and posted too it is too darling to miss.
